Garage door repair in Fort Myers

Springs, openers and off-track doors across Fort Myers, from McGregor to Gateway. Same-day on most calls that come in during the day.

Fort Myers doors, and what tends to go wrong

Fort Myers covers a wider spread of housing than the Cape does, and the door we find behind it changes a lot by neighborhood. That matters because it changes which part has failed before anyone opens the garage.

  • McGregor and the older river corridor: doors from the 1960s to 80s, often on their second or third opener and still running extension springs. Safety cables are frequently missing.
  • Whiskey Creek, Villas, Iona: 70s and 80s single doors, mostly light and uninsulated, where rollers and cables are the usual failures.
  • Gateway, Daniels Parkway, Colonial: 1990s to 2000s subdivisions with torsion springs now at the end of their cycle life, hence a steady run of spring breaks.
  • Downtown and the historic district: narrow single garages, sometimes detached, often with low headroom that needs the right track configuration.

Further from the salt, longer life

Inland Fort Myers is kinder to hardware than the Cape's canal network. Springs and cables that corrode in six or seven years a block from open water will often reach ten or twelve out toward Gateway. If you have moved inland and your door is lasting better, that is why. It is not that the last company installed bad parts.

Permits still apply

Replacing a garage door inside Fort Myers city limits needs a permit through the City; outside them it goes through Lee County. Repairs do not. We work out which applies to your address and file it, rather than leaving it to you.

These prices are estimates

Every figure here is a researched market range for Cape Coral and Lee County. It is not an offer. Your price is fixed in writing by the technician before any work starts, and it does not change afterward.

Fort Myers questions

Call (239) 933-6721 and we will give you an arrival window.

Do you charge extra to come out to Fort Myers?

No. Fort Myers is a standard service area and the service call is the same as in Cape Coral.

How quickly can you get here?

Most calls taken during the day are scheduled the same day. Crossing the bridge adds travel time, so the earlier the call the better the window.

My door has extension springs. Can you still work on it?

Yes. A lot of older Fort Myers doors still run them. If yours do not have safety cables threaded through, we will mention it. That is a cheap fix worth doing.

Do I need a permit to replace my door?

For a new door, yes. Inside city limits it goes through the City of Fort Myers, outside through Lee County. We work out which and handle it. Repairs need no permit.

Do you cover North Fort Myers too?

Yes, and the rest of Lee County. If you are unsure, send the address and we will tell you.
